New Delhi [India], April 1 (HBTV): The person who allegedly sent over 1,000 hoax messages to several institutions, High Courts, and government offices allegedly harbored deep resentment towards the judicial system after his father did not receive his share in a land dispute in Karnataka's Mysuru, Delhi Police sources said.
According to the sources, 47-year-old Srinivas Louis, who was arrested on Monday from his rented accommodation in Mysuru, has been sent to a six-day Delhi Police remand.
Sources said Louis’ father was involved in a land dispute case in Mysuru and was not receiving his share of the property. The accused reportedly developed resentment towards the judicial system, believing that justice was not being served to his father, and subsequently decided to study law.
After qualifying for the National Eligibility Test (NET), he worked as an Assistant Professor, the sources added.
Most of the emails and messages were allegedly sent from his mobile phone. He was reportedly adept at masking his IP address, making it difficult for authorities to track him. In addition to sending hoax emails to Delhi and other cities across India, he also sent emails to a few cities in Pakistan.
Not only courts across several cities, but even the Supreme Court was among his targets. He allegedly sent emails multiple times a day to various locations simultaneously, with most messages composed in Kannada or English.
Sources said police teams have gone to Mysuru to take his mobile phone into custody.
Driven by fear of apprehension, he frequently changed his place of residence. His immediate family consists of his mother, who lives with him.
The arrest was made following a detailed investigation and technical surveillance by the Delhi Police.
Police have launched a thorough investigation, and further details are awaited in the case. (ANI)
