Sirsa (Haryana) [India], August 15 (HBTV): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Punjabi singer Baaz Sran, wanted in connection with the seizure of 36.150 kg of opium.

According to the NCB’s Chandigarh Zonal Unit, Sran — a resident of Sirsa, Haryana — had been declared a proclaimed offender in 2016 and evaded arrest for nearly a decade by changing his identity and location.

In May 2025, the NCB published his details in leading newspapers and announced a ₹50,000 reward for information leading to his capture.

During his absconding period, Sran gained popularity as a singer on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, amassing more than 360,000 followers. He recently posted a video on social media, which authorities believe helped track him down.

The NCB said this arrest is a significant success in its efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle associated networks.
