Panchkula (Haryana) [India], November 12 (HBTV): Haryana Police has launched a sweeping statewide crackdown titled Operation Trackdown, signalling a firm stance of zero tolerance towards crime. The campaign, which began on November 5 and will continue till November 20, has already delivered significant results, with 56 most-wanted criminals arrested within the first two days, along with 602 other accused persons across the state.

On the first day alone, 32 criminals were apprehended, followed by 24 more notorious offenders and 252 others facing various charges on the second day. Police also opened nine new history sheets to update criminal records and expedite bail cancellations for repeat offenders.

Under the leadership of Director General of Police (DGP) Haryana O P Singh, the operation is being executed through a coordinated, multi-tier strategy involving police stations, districts, and the state headquarters. Each police station has identified its top five most-wanted criminals, while district-level teams are targeting the top ten offenders in their respective jurisdictions. The State Task Force (STF) has drawn up a list of 20 of the most dangerous criminals in Haryana, with focused operations already underway.

To strengthen police-public collaboration, the Inspector General (IG) Crime has made his personal mobile number (90342-90495) public, urging citizens to share information confidentially and assist the force in its mission.

Haryana Police has also partnered with law enforcement agencies from Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chandigarh to conduct joint raids, monitor borders, and execute pending warrants.

Officials said the campaign’s objective goes beyond arrests—it aims to dismantle organised criminal networks, cancel bails of habitual offenders, seize illegally acquired assets, and prevent future crimes.

The success of Operation Trackdown in its opening days has sent a strong message that Haryana is now a state with ‘no place to hide’ for criminals.
