New Delhi [India], December 9 (HBTV): IndiGo on Monday announced a significant operational recovery, stating that it will operate more than 1,800 flights across its network, marking a decisive turnaround after days of widespread disruption. The airline said it has restored connectivity to all stations in its network and reduced cancellations through tighter planning and operational optimisation.
According to IndiGo, Monday’s total flight count rose sharply from about 1,650 on Sunday. The airline also reported a marked improvement in its on-time performance, which climbed to 90 per cent across the network, up from nearly 75 per cent recorded the previous day.
The airline said that all cancellations scheduled for Monday were finalised and communicated to passengers in advance on Sunday, ensuring smoother travel planning and fewer last-minute disruptions.
As part of its recovery efforts, IndiGo highlighted accelerated customer support measures, including expedited refunds and enhanced passenger assistance. The airline said it has processed refunds amounting to INR 827 crore for cancellations up to 15 December, with the remaining cases under progress.
Between 1 and 7 December, the airline arranged more than 9,500 hotel rooms and nearly 10,000 cab and bus services for stranded passengers. IndiGo added that over 4,500 delayed bags have been reunited with their owners, with the remaining baggage expected to be delivered within the next 36 hours.
IndiGo said it is currently assisting over two lakh customers daily through its communication channels as teams continue working to stabilise operations.
Reassuring passengers and regulators, the airline reiterated that all its operations remain compliant with Flight Duty Time Limitations and safety regulations. It added that it continues to coordinate closely with authorities to ensure smooth functioning.
Expressing regret over the recent disruptions, IndiGo thanked passengers for their patience and acknowledged the efforts of its staff and partners in supporting the recovery process.
