Gurugram (Haryana) [India], July 20 (HBTV): A Gurugram court has sent Deepak Yadav, the father of Radhika Yadav and the prime accused in her murder, to 14 days' judicial custody.

Gurugram Police produced the accused before the duty magistrate amid heavy police protection, with his face covered.

Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old tennis player, was shot dead by her father, allegedly following a disagreement over her tennis academy located in Sector 57, Gurugram.

Her body was cremated on July 11 in Gurugram after a post-mortem examination confirmed multiple gunshot wounds. Dr Deepak Mathur, part of the medical team, said, 'The postmortem of the deceased tennis player is completed. Four bullets were taken out from Radhika Yadav's body.'

Gurugram Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sandeep Kumar on Friday stated that the murder stemmed from a dispute over the tennis academy. Speaking to ANI, Kumar said, 'The father, who runs a rental property business, was unhappy with his daughter running the academy, citing their financially prosperous background as a reason for her not to work.'

He added, 'Despite being told not to run the academy, Radhika refused to stop working, which eventually and ultimately led to a huge disagreement. Going further, the accused got angry and shot his daughter with his licensed gun and killed her.'

Police are also investigating a music video in which Radhika Yadav had appeared. According to sources, her father had asked her to delete the video from her social media accounts. However, police have found no connection between the video and the murder.

Inam-ul-Haq, who acted alongside Radhika Yadav in the music video, clarified he had no involvement in the incident. 'I met her for the first time in the Tennis Premier League, which was held in Delhi. After that, I met her during the music video shoot. She was an actor to me. I have worked with many actresses. She just came for the shooting and then left. We just gave her a good luck amount. The production of the video was unpaid. After that, we never contacted,' he said.
