Udaipur (Rajasthan) [India], November 26 (HBTV): A violent clash erupted on Monday night between two factions of Udaipur's royal family, resulting in stone pelting outside the City Palace.

The dispute involved BJP MLA Vishvaraj Singh Mewar, the newly crowned 77th Maharana of Mewar, and his cousin Dr. Lakshay Raj Singh Mewar, along with their uncle Arvind Singh Mewar. Tensions escalated when Vishvaraj Singh and his supporters were reportedly denied entry into the City Palace.

The refusal prompted the MLA's supporters to throw stones and attempt to force their way into the palace. Those inside the palace responded, intensifying the altercation.

The conflict within the erstwhile royal family appears to have been triggered by Vishvaraj Singh's recent coronation as the Maharana of Mewar.

Further details are awaited.
