In a robbery that seems to be a scene straight out of a movie, a jewelry showroom in the national capital's Dariba Kalan area was looted by thieves who drilled a hole into it from an adjacent shop.

New Delhi [India], May 14 (HBTV): In a robbery that seems to be a scene straight out of a movie, a jewelry showroom in the national capital's Dariba Kalan area was looted by thieves who drilled a hole into it from an adjacent shop, police said.

According to the owner of the shop, Lalit Soni, the thieves made off with around INR one lakh in cash and silver jewelry weighing approximately 10-12 kilograms.

‘On Saturday or Sunday night, they might have carried out the robbery. They entered the shop by drilling a hole in the neighboring shop. They stole all silver jewelry and cash totaling INR 15-20 lakh but left behind the artificial jewelry,’ Soni said.

‘We got to know after two days when my brother came to open the shop. He noticed the debris alongside the counter with no jewelry.’

Police said it is investigating the case.
