Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 22 (HBTV): Following strict directives from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the Lekhpal recruitment process, the Revenue Council has issued an order directing corrective steps in the ongoing selection exercise.

The Revenue Council Commissioner has written to the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, asking it to submit revised information related to the selection of Lekhpal posts within a week. The letter stated that the existing 7,994 vacant Lekhpal posts must be re-verified and that immediate action should be taken in accordance with the rules.

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a stern warning to the Chairman of the Revenue Council following complaints regarding irregularities in the selection process. He directed that both vertical and horizontal reservations for all 7,994 vacant posts be strictly implemented as per norms, including 27 per cent for Other Backward Classes, 21 per cent for Scheduled Castes and 2 per cent for Scheduled Tribes.

The state government has emphasised transparency and full compliance with recruitment regulations, instructing the concerned departments to ensure timely and rule-based action in the Lekhpal selection process.
