Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 24 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on being conferred with Brazil’s highest national honour, The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross. He described the recognition as a proud moment for all Indians and a symbol of Bharat’s growing global stature.



‘Congratulations to Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi Ji on being conferred with Brazil’s highest national honour, The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross,’ Adityanath wrote in a post on X.



He added, ‘This prestigious recognition reflects your visionary leadership and dedicated efforts in strengthening India-Brazil relations through trust, cooperation, and shared global goals. A proud moment for all Indians and a symbol of the growing global stature of Bharat.’



Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the honour from Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday.



Modi, who was on a state visit to Brazil after attending the BRICS Summit, was given a ceremonial welcome at the Alvorada Palace in Brasilia.



He shared a warm moment with President Lula da Silva, including a hug during the reception at the palace. The two leaders also enjoyed a classical Indian music performance featuring traditional instruments such as the harmonium and tabla.

During the visit, the Prime Minister said that India and Brazil share a unified approach to the global fight against terrorism, advocating ‘zero tolerance and zero double standards’. He also highlighted the growing defence cooperation between the two countries as a ‘symbol of deep mutual trust’.
