Uttar Pradesh, India, Nov 1 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday that people who cause divisions in the society on the lines of caste, regional, and language have the “DNA of Ravan and Duryodhan." In Hindu religious tradition, Ravan and Duryodhan are considered villains and destroyers.

Celebrating Diwali with the forest dwellers of Vantangiya village, Adityanath warned that people who disrupt peace or commit crime against women would be prosecuted strictly.

Some people divide society in the name of caste, some by region or language, and thereby sow chaos, he said. These people have the DNA of Ravan and Duryodhan in them, Adityanath said.

‘If we get deceived by such forces and give them a chance, they will again do the same thing… They threaten the safety of daughters and sisters, usurp the land of the poor, kidnap businessmen, shoot people on the road and incite riots before festivals. This is what these people used to do before 2017,’ he said.
