Gaya (Bihar) [India], November 25 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal over what he described as its misrule when it governed the state.
Addressing a rally in Gaya, Yogi Adityanath said that large sections of the population felt unsafe during the RJD government’s 15-year rule in the state from 1990.
He said that there used to be riots and massacres during the RJD government and that such incidents would occur ahead of festivals. He said that traders, industrialists, engineers, doctors, daughters, and children were unsafe, and that the youth had no jobs and the poor had no ration. He said that the government could not have provided ration when it was ‘eating the fodder’, and questioned how it could have provided jobs. He alleged that land was taken from people in exchange for employment.
Speaking earlier at another rally in Motihari, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister referred to the record voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections and expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s victory.
He said that the first phase of polling was completed on November 6 and that emerging trends made it clear that ‘no one will be able to commit crimes in the dim light of the lantern anymore’.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state would once again witness an NDA government ‘shining under the LED light’ when the results were announced on November 14.
Yogi Adityanath also targeted the Congress and the RJD, blaming them for Bihar’s decline in literacy and development.
He said that Bihar, a land with a rich heritage, had given the world Nalanda University and was the place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. He said that the state had fallen behind in literacy and that the blame lay equally with the Congress and the RJD.
