Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 18 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday conducted a ground inspection of the Herbert Bandha four-lane road project in Gorakhpur and approved infrastructure projects worth more than INR 700 crore aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.
Addressing a gathering at the inspection site, CM Adityanath said that improved road connectivity from Herbert Bandha to Mahesara via Domingarh and Madhopur would benefit both commuters and freight movement.
‘Those who want to get from Herbert Bandha to Domingarh—previously, there was no system on the railway line; a person could not go from Herbert Bandha to the Madhopur embankment... Now, a system is being developed so that from Transport Nagar to Domingarh, there will be a four-lane road, and in Domingarh, a new railway overbridge is being constructed. After that, from Herbert Bandha, action will be taken to connect the Madhopur embankment with a four-lane road to Mahesara. Then the entire road till Mahesara will have excellent four-lane connectivity from outside to Gorakhpur... This applies to passengers as well as freight vehicles,’ Adityanath said.
The proposed four-lane road from Gorakhpur’s Rajghat Bridge to Domingarh will span approximately four kilometres and will be built at a cost of INR 195 crore.
The second stretch, from Domingarh to Mahesara via Madhopur, will cover about ten kilometres and is expected to cost INR 380 crore. A railway overbridge at Domingarh will also be constructed at a cost of INR 132 crore.
‘For this, three big projects are being sanctioned. From Gorakhpur Rajghat Bridge to Domingarh, a four-kilometre, four-lane road will be built for INR 195 crore. Similarly, the Domingarh to Madhopur embankment up to Mahesara—about a ten-kilometre road—will be built at a cost of around INR 380 crore. In Domingarh, a railway overbridge will be constructed at a cost of INR 132 crore,’ the Chief Minister added.
CM Adityanath said that these three projects, with a combined investment of over INR 700 crore, aim to strengthen transportation infrastructure and ease movement in and around Gorakhpur.
