Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 24 (HBTV): The Uttar Pradesh government has demolished 130 unauthorised constructions, sealed 198, and served notices to 223 structures along the Indo-Nepal border in seven districts of the state during the past two months as part of a crackdown on land encroachments. 



The action, carried out under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has targeted illegal mosques, Eidgahs, madrasas, and mazars built on both government and private land.



The crackdown has been implemented in Pilibhit, Shravasti, Balrampur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharthnagar, and Maharajganj, with Shravasti recording the highest number of cases with action taken against 149 encroachments.



Shravasti District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi said that notices had been served to all 149 identified illegal structures, of which 140 were sealed and 37 demolished. He confirmed that action against the remaining encroachments was continuing.



In Lakhimpur Kheri, District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal reported that 13 illegal constructions had been identified, with three demolished, 10 sealed, and one served a notice.



In Maharajganj, 45 illegal structures were identified, of which 24 were sealed and 31 demolished. In Siddharthnagar, 23 encroachments were found; notices were issued to two and 21 demolished. In Bahraich, 25 structures were identified, with five sealed and 15 demolished.



In Pilibhit, two illegal constructions were found and both demolished. In Balrampur, 41 encroachments were identified, with one served a notice, 19 sealed, and 21 demolished.



According to officials, over the past 60 days, Shravasti has recorded the highest action against illegal constructions, followed by Maharajganj and Balrampur.
