Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 21 (HBTV): An investigation has been launched against a doctor from a private hospital in Meerut after he allegedly used glue to treat a facial wound on a child, instead of administering stitches.

According to Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Meerut, Ashok Kataria, the child’s family alleged that the doctor applied an adhesive to close the wound, putting the child’s health at risk. The incident came to light after the child continued to experience discomfort, prompting the family to seek treatment at another hospital.

‘The complaint was received yesterday. It stated that the child had a facial injury and that it was treated with something similar to glue instead of stitches… After discomfort, the family approached a different hospital,’ Kataria said.

The CMO added that an investigation team has been constituted to examine the incident. ‘We have formed a team to investigate this matter. Action will be taken based on the report submitted by the investigation committee,’ he said.

Further investigation is underway.
