Two government school teachers in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district have been suspended after a video surfaced showing them consuming alcohol inside a classroom, officials said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at the government primary school in Fayyaznagar village under Hasanpur block. According to locals, the headmaster of the school, Arvind Kumar, and another headmaster, Anupal, from a nearby school in Sutari village, were allegedly in the habit of drinking alcohol together on school premises, often in the presence of students.

Villagers filmed the two headmasters drinking inside the classroom and submitted the video to District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta Vats. The footage, which has gone viral on social media, shows the teachers pouring and consuming alcohol at a classroom table while children are present.

Following a preliminary inquiry, District Magistrate Vats ordered the suspension of both teachers. The block education officer conducted an investigation, and action was taken based on the findings of the report.
