Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], December 6 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a ‘Janta Darshan’ at the Gorakhnath Temple premises in Gorakhpur, where he met people from various parts of the district and listened to their grievances.

During the public outreach programme, the Chief Minister reviewed written applications submitted by citizens and assured them of timely assistance and resolution. He also interacted with women and children present at the venue.

Similar ‘Janta Darshan’ programmes were held earlier at the Gorakhnath Temple premises on November 18 and November 10. On November 16, the Chief Minister addressed public grievances during a ‘Janta Darshan’ in Lucknow.

On the same day, Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting in Sambhal to assess ongoing development works and the law-and-order situation. He directed government and district officials to develop Sambhal in a phased manner, stating that the district’s development was a priority for the state government.

In the first phase, the Chief Minister instructed officials to restore ancient pilgrimage sites and traditional wells. The second phase, he said, should focus on projects such as a museum and light-and-sound facilities. He also called for swift progress on the construction of the District Court, jail and PAC unit in Sambhal.

The Chief Minister reviewed the performance of departments including Revenue, Home, Justice, Charitable Works, Public Works, Tourism and Culture, and Urban Development. He noted that Sambhal has 68 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells and directed the local administration to accelerate efforts to identify and restore them.

Reviewing the restoration work of the Mahishmati river, Yogi Adityanath said rivers are lifelines and must be conserved, directing officials to speed up the process under the Namami Gange programme.

He also reviewed projects under various urban and development schemes, including the Vandan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Vaishwik Nagarodaya Yojana, Funeral Site Development Scheme, Urban Water Development Scheme, Lake and Pond Development Scheme, and the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Urban Development Scheme, instructing officials to complete all works expeditiously.
