Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 31 (HBTV): The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a directive mandating the strict implementation of reservation provisions in all state government recruitment processes.
The order, issued under the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, emphasises that reservations for Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Economically Weaker Sections must be implemented strictly in accordance with existing rules. All Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries have been instructed to ensure full compliance.
The directive, issued by Principal Secretary (Appointments and Personnel) M. Devaraj, also underlines the need for strict implementation of reservation provisions for women, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen. The government has made it clear that any failure to comply with reservation norms will not be tolerated.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for increased investment and the use of artificial intelligence in the state, saying that 2025 would be remembered for innovation in technology and data. In an open letter to the people of Uttar Pradesh, he said preparations were underway to establish ‘AI City’ in Lucknow and Noida, adding that around 10 lakh citizens were receiving training under the ‘AI Pragya’ initiative.
In the letter shared on X, the Chief Minister said that a semiconductor unit was being constructed in Jewar at a cost of INR 3,700 crore and that the state was targeting investments of INR 30,000 crore in the data centre sector, citing progress under the data centre policy focused on secure and indigenous infrastructure.
