Yogi Adityanath has become the longest-serving chief minister of UP, surpassing the previous record of eight years and 127 days held by Govind Ballabh Pant, the first CM of independent UP.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 13 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has become the longest-serving Chief Minister of the state, surpassing the previous record of eight years and 127 days held by Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the first Chief Minister of independent Uttar Pradesh. Yogi Adityanath has now completed an uninterrupted tenure of eight years, four months, and 10 days.

His tenure has been marked by political stability, reforms, transparency, and a focus on law and order. The state government stated that under his leadership, Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a crime-ridden and chaotic state into a ‘New Uttar Pradesh’, where governance and rule of law prevail.

Over the past eight years, the government has launched significant infrastructure projects such as AIIMS in Gorakhpur, the Purvanchal Expressway, the Bundelkhand Expressway, and the upcoming Film City. The state has also seen growth in investment and employment opportunities.

Welfare initiatives including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, free ration distribution, Ujjwala Yojana, Kanya Sumangala, and Mission Shakti have brought measurable benefits to citizens.

At this milestone, Yogi Adityanath is not only the state’s longest-serving Chief Minister but is also credited with laying the groundwork to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in nation-building.
