Alleged border trafficking tout arrested in Tripura

Agartala, Tripura, April 3 (HBTV): A team of Government Railway Police, Tripura Police, and Border Security Force personnel from Srimantapur Border outpost have arrested a woman, alleged to be a border human trafficking tout.     



The woman has been identified as one Parul Akter. She is accused of helping six Bangladeshi nationals cross the international border.



The officer in charge of Government Railway Police Station of Agartala, Tapas Das, said the woman was wanted in connection with a case registered with the police station earlier in March.  



On March 20, the authorities arrested six Bangladeshi nationals from Agartala Railway Station from which emerged that one Parul Akter of Moti Nagar village had extended logistics support to the Bangladeshi nationals, Das said. On Sunday night, the police were informed that she had arrived at her home, Das has said.    



According to Das, police and BSF troopers cordoned off her house the entire night and detained her at dawn. The police will produce her before the Court on Tuesday with a prayer of Police remand, Das added.
