Aizawl (Mizoram) [India], January 27 (HBTV): Assam Rifles recovered 339 bags of illegal areca nuts from the general area of Tlangnuam in Aizawl on Sunday, with the seized consignment valued at approximately INR 1.8 crore.

According to a release from the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs about the storage of contraband in the area.

The operation led to the seizure of the consignment along with three vehicles and the arrest of three individuals. The arrested persons and seized items were handed over to the Customs Preventive Force, Aizawl, for further investigation and necessary legal proceedings.
