Imphal, Manipur, November 30 (HBTV): Teams of the Manipur Police have arrested five militants of three different militant outfits involved in extortion activities in valley districts in the past 48 hours.



On Thursday, Manipur Police arrested three active members of proscribed outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) involved in extortion and illegal possession of arms, from Imphal West and East districts.



They were identified as one Chongtham Shyamchandra Singh alias Sanajaoba alias Malemsana (23); a Maibam Suraj Khan (32), and one Boghimayum Sahid Khan (30).



Police seized three 5.56 mm INSAS live ammunitions, one empty case of .32 ammunition, three mobile phones, and a wallet from their possession.



Another active cadre of the proscribed outfit People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Pro), identified as a Huidrom Priyokumar Singh (37) was also arrested from Imphal West district on Friday.



He was involved in extortion activities from shops in Imphal area, updates said.



The police seized a mobile handset, a wallet containing a sum of INR 1,150 in cash, an Aadhaar card and a two-wheeler from his possession.



On the same day, Manipur Police also arrested one active member of the United National Liberation Front (Ningon Macha group) identified as one Sangomshumpham Warish alias Chingnungakpa (25) from Lilong Haorou Hangamthabi Salam Makok, Thoubal district.



The police seized a .32 pistol with magazine with three .32 live round, a holster, five 9mm live round, a mobile handset, and a four-wheeler from his possession.
