Silchar, Assam, January 29 (HBTV): A fourth-grade retired policeman of the Assam police died when a tractor overturned in East Dholai of Cachar district on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic accident took place at Maniarkhal Garden area on Tuesday at around 12:30 PM.
A tractor on which the man, identified as one Manik Oriya, and its driver Ranu Chasa, lost control and tumbled into the paddy field. Manik Oriya died on the spot. Tractor driver, Ranu Chasa too suffered critical injuries and had to be rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
The Palonghat police arrived and sent the dead body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
