Lunglei (Mizoram) [India], November 1 (HBTV): In an anti-narcotics operation, Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Excise and Narcotics Department, seized heroin worth approximately INR 15.94 lakh, weighing around 22.78 grams, and apprehended a woman in Mizoram's Lunglei on Thursday, officials said.



According to officials, the woman, suspected of drug peddling, had been under surveillance for the past few days. Acting on intelligence, Assam Rifles launched a joint operation in the early morning of October 31, 2024.



During the operation, a quantity of Heroin No. 4 was recovered, and the woman was apprehended. She, along with the seized items, is currently in the custody of the Excise and Narcotics Department in Lunglei for further investigation.



Earlier in October, Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police, in a joint operation, recovered 39,900 detonators near the Indo-Myanmar border.
