Manipur: 29 polling stations set up for internally displaced people

There will be 29 special polling stations for internally displaced people in the Inner Manipur Constituency for the forthcoming phase-I elections to the 18th Lok Sabha.

Imphal, Manipur, April 13 (HBTV): The returning officer for 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and District Election Officer for Imphal West Th. Kirankumar has informed that there will be 29 special polling stations for internally displaced people in the Inner Manipur Constituency for the forthcoming phase-I elections to the 18th Lok Sabha. 



The election will be conducted on April 19, 2024.              



A press conference was conducted on Friday afternoon in the court room of the District Election Officer in Imphal West to highlight the preparations and measures being taken by the authorities to ensure a smooth voting experience for electors.        



Imphal West’s superintendent of Police, Ksh Shivakanta Singh and other top officials also took part in the press meet.             



Th. Kirankumar said 1-Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency consists of a total of 32 assembly constituencies. There will be a total of 1,319 polling stations.              



In Imphal West district alone, there will be 145 women-manned polling stations and 13 model polling stations. The home visit for postal ballot in respect of Imphal West will commence from April 14.
