Imphal, Manipur, March 8 (HBTV): Anti-free movement groups who gathered at Kangpokpi in Manipur ran amok after central security forces in Kangpokpi areas fired rounds of tear gas shells while the mob was attempting to block free passage for commuters.



Tensions have now escalated in Kangpokpi, as security forces fired tear gas to disperse a large number of Kuki groups attempting to block the crucial highway.



The road in question is being guarded by an Assam relief convoy, which is under security escort along with Manipur State Transport buses. The situation remains volatile, with heavy security deployment in the area.
