Imphal, Manipur, May 26 (HBTV): The All Naga Doctors' Forum of Manipur has condemned what it alleged was the 'manhandling' of a physician Dr. Larung Mejonah by Manipur Police personnel on May 24, at 9:00 pm. The forum has alleged that Manipur police personnel told a Naga doctor 'I could kill you.'  

The ANDFM said in a press statement that six-to-seven Manipur police personnel stopped Dr. Mejonah at Konung Mamang (Palace Compound) in Imphal East district at around 9 pm and asked for the car documents, which were produced promptly.        

When he told the police that he was a doctor currently posted at the Moreh Hospital as a medical officer, the police personnel allegedly replied ‘then I could even kill you'. 

They detained Dr. Mejonah for an hour, the statement added.

On the contrary, such untoward and unprofessional manhandling, abuse of power, intimidation and death threat informed by communal feelings by one state employee to another is highly inappropriate, the forum stated.
