Imphal, Manipur, November 30 (HBTV): The Manipur Police has arrested another person in connection with the arson on the residences of legislators in Imphal Valley on November 16.
The suspect identified as one Chongtham Thoicha alias Romeo Meitei (20) from Kiyam Mamang Leikai under Patsoi-PS of Imphal West District was arrested by Manipur Police on Thursday.
Also, the state’s police on Thursday arrested seven individuals who allegedly attacked the Kakching Police Station and police personnel on Wednesday night.
The arrested persons were identified as one Naorem Jotish Singh (30), a Kshetrimayum Rajiv Singh (50), one Pravin Leishangthem (31), a Pukhrambam Gopen (32), one Naorem Sitaljit Singh (33), a Wayengbam Johnson Singh (31), and one Kshetrimayum Ashokumar (30).
The police said the attack was carried out to demand the release of four persons who were arrested on Wednesday allegedly for vandalizing properties of an elected member. Two police personnel were injured during the attack, updates stated.
