Imphal, Manipur, April 5 (HBTV): The Poumai Naga in Senapati have reaffirmed their support to Kho John, the independent candidate for the 2-Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha elections.                   

In this regard, an emergency assembly meeting was conducted at Sanyi Dahrii Memorial Sports Complex at Karong of Senapati. The house unanimously decided to extend its fullest support to Kho John, who is the longest-serving president of the All Naga Students’ Association of Manipur.         

Poumai village chairman, secretaries, politicians, and leaders from various organizations, intellections, and well wishers attended the meeting.      

A resolution was earlier passed on October 24, 2023, at the PNU assembly in Koide Biisho to support Kho John.      

Speaking at the occasion, the independent candidate expressed gratitude and said that his mission was to ‘plant’ for the younger generation to harvest bountifully. John also said that contesting in the parliamentary elections was a long-cherished dream of the Poumai and that he was trying his best.  

The house resolved further to appeal to all communities in the state of Manipur, particular voters of the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency to support and vote for Kho John. His election symbol is a Trumpet.
