Imphal, Manipur, November 26 (HBTV): The situation in Manipur's Sekmai has been tense since a Meitei man in his fifties went missing on Monday. The missing person has been identified as one Kamal Babu Singh from Loitang Khunou.
Family members said his phone switched off at approximately 2:00 pm on Monday after he set out for work at Leimakhong.
Leimakhong is an adjoining area between the Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi district and the Meitei-dominated Imphal West district.
Sources from the Kangpokpi district police said joint search operations by the police and the central forces around the areas have begun.
The area has become tense since early morning with a large number of women taking to the streets, blocking roads to demand the whereabouts of the missing person.
