Agartala (Tripura) [India], November 14 (HBTV): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday inaugurated development projects worth INR 207 crore in Dhalai district. He unveiled 20 new projects and laid the foundation stones for two additional initiatives during a programs organised at the Manikbhandar Harachandra HS School ground.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the state government’s primary focus is to improve the quality of life for the people of Tripura. He noted that socio-economic development for citizens in both rural and urban regions remains one of the government’s key priorities. Saha added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently emphasised the importance of ensuring development reaches the last person in society.
Saha highlighted that Tripura continues to witness steady progress, particularly in districts like Dhalai, which has been categorised as an aspirational district. He said the government has been working with greater emphasis on Dhalai since coming to power in 2018, with support from the Centre aiding various developmental efforts.
He stated that multiple projects are underway to uplift the socio-economic conditions of Dhalai district. He further remarked that the opposition often fails to acknowledge the progress taking place in the region, despite visible improvements.
The Chief Minister said a total of 22 projects from departments including Rural Development, Urban Development, Health, Education, Public Works and National Highways have been inaugurated or had their foundations laid. He stressed that the government aims to achieve holistic development by prioritising public welfare and economic advancement.
Saha said development remains a continuous process and that the state government is consistently working on new initiatives. He informed that various infrastructure projects are being implemented across the state, including the construction of subdivision and block-level buildings, primary health centres, roads, office complexes, staff quarters, bridges, culverts, market sheds, shelter homes, health facilities, synthetic football grounds, student hostels, pucca school buildings, Krishak Bandhu Centres and modern motor stands.
He added that the government is identifying and addressing basic public needs while working toward the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047. Saha said Tripura is committed to building a Viksit Tripura in line with this national goal.
The Chief Minister further stated that NITI Aayog has recognised Tripura as a ‘Front Runner’ state. He said the government has enhanced transparency and efficiency by introducing e-offices across all administrative levels, from the Cabinet to the three-tier Panchayat system.
Saha also said plans are underway to establish a medical college at the Dhalai District Hospital. He noted that the number of beds in government medical colleges has increased from 727 to 1,413 over the years.
