Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 4 (HBTV): In a historic moment for Tripura’s sporting community, the Judo Federation of India (JFI) has officially granted recognition to the All Tripura Judo Association after eight years of legal battles, correspondence, and persistent efforts.

Antara Sarkar Deb, President of the All Tripura Judo Association, said the long-awaited confirmation arrived on Sunday through an official email from JFI, marking the culmination of a process that began in September 2017 and continued until September 2025.

Officials credited the breakthrough to the role played by Ratan Saha, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Tripura Olympic Association. Association Secretary Pranab Saha and Treasurer Pradip Sarkar also worked over the past two years to resolve administrative hurdles and achieve recognition for the association.

The association is currently headed by President Antara Sarkar Deb, Secretary Pranab Saha, and Treasurer Pradip Sarkar.

Athletes and sports enthusiasts across the state welcomed the announcement with joy, viewing it as a milestone that will open new opportunities for Tripura’s judokas at national and international levels.
