Agartala, Tripura, April 26 (HBTV): Months after a financial fraud to the tune of INR 82 lakh came to light at HDFC bank’s Udaipur branch in Gomati district of Tripura, one Priyanka Pal Saha, the wife of a police constable, has been arrested in connection with the case. She was arrested from North Bengal. On Friday she was brought to Udaipur and produced before the court. Her husband was already arrested for allegedly being involved in the same scam.



The accused identified as Priyanka Pal Saha, wife of police constable Jayanta Saha from RK Pur Police Station, was detained on April 21 by officers from Pradhan Nagar Police Station in Siliguri, West Bengal. She was brought to Udaipur via Agartala Airport and handed over to the Radhakishorepur Women’s Police Station. Later, she was produced before the District and Sessions Court, which remanded her to a day of judicial custody.



Speaking to the media, SDPO Nirman Das confirmed that the fraud involved approximately INR 82 lakh, as revealed by initial findings. He also hinted that several individuals, both within and possibly from those outside the bank, are believed to be involved.
