Agartala, Tripura, October 22 (HBTV): All general degree colleges in Tripura will be offering free Wi-Fi services to students by December, according to an announcement by Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday. 



The initiative has already begun with Wi-Fi being launched in 19 colleges across the state, benefiting over 50,000 students. Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, during an event at Udaipur Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya said this project, led by the Information Technology and Higher Education departments, aims to enhance students' access to digital resources and online learning platforms.   



The minister also mentioned that the state government is considering providing smartphone grants worth INR 5,000 to undergraduate students. The initiative is expected to significantly improve students' access to digital learning tools, advancing Tripura’s digital transformation efforts.
