Imphal, Manipur, October 22 (HBTV): In a significant seizure, the Central Industrial Security Force detected and confiscated gold from two passengers at Imphal Airport.    



26-year-old Lourembam Ramananda Mangang of Iroishemba Lourembam Leikai, Lamphelpat, Imphal West, was caught carrying 312.91 grams of gold in three yellow metal chains, while 30-year-old Kshetrimayum Gulson Meitei (30) of Iroishemba Maning Leikai, Iroishemba Imphal West, was carrying 310.61 grams of gold in three yellow metal chains.   



Both passengers were scheduled to travel from Imphal to Guwahati on Indigo flight 6E-6342. They were caught around 1:30 pm, while CISF personnel were conducting X-BIS screening of hand baggage. The CISF handed over the seized gold and passengers to Customs Division, Imphal Airport, for further investigation. This seizure highlights the vigilance and effectiveness of CISF and customs authorities in combating gold smuggling.
