Tel Aviv [Israel], July 15 (HBTV): Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz on Monday described the military's strike on Syrian tanks in southern Syria as a 'message and a clear warning' to the Syrian regime, asserting that Israel would not permit harm to the Druze community in Syria.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) launched the strike earlier in the day after several tanks were observed moving in the area between Al-Sijin and Sama, heading toward As-Suwayda in southern Syria. The tanks were attacked to prevent their approach to the sensitive region.

‘The IDF attacked targets in Syria as a message and a clear warning to the Syrian regime—we will not allow harm to the Druze in Syria,’ Defence Minister Katz said.

The IDF said the presence of these military assets in southern Syria could pose a threat to Israel, stating, ‘The IDF will not allow the existence of a military threat in southern Syria and will act against it.’
