North Goa (Goa) [India], October 10 (HBTV): The Anti-Narcotic Cell (ANC) police station in Goa conducted one of the biggest narcotics raids of the year, seizing high-grade cocaine and ecstasy powder worth approximately INR 2.53 crore, an official statement said.

The accused, identified as 24-year-old Nigerian national Chigozie Innocent Nzedigwe, was arrested for the second time by the ANC. He had been out on bail since October 2024 after his previous arrest for possessing varying quantities of cocaine and ecstasy.

Following his release, ANC officials closely monitored Nzedigwe’s movements and activities through technical surveillance and human intelligence. Acting on specific information, the ANC team raided his rented premises at Gublawada, Oxel, Siolim, late Wednesday night and seized 1.16 kg of high-grade cocaine valued at INR 2.32 crore in the international market.

Additionally, 106.2 grams of ecstasy powder worth INR 21.24 lakh were recovered from the premises, taking the total seizure value to approximately INR 2.53 crore. The two-wheeler scooter allegedly used by the accused for distributing the drugs was also seized, the statement added.

The accused has been remanded to police custody for seven days by the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa.

Police said a meticulous investigation is underway to identify the source of the seized drugs and trace the financial trail involved, under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Range.
