Turkey, May 28 (HBTV): In a bizarre incident in Turkey, a man who was reported missing ended up unintentionally joining the search party that had been organised to find him, according to local media reports.
Beyhan Mutlu, a 50-year-old resident of Bursa province, had been drinking with friends on Tuesday when he wandered off into a nearby forest. When he failed to return, his concerned wife and friends contacted local authorities, prompting them to launch a search operation.
Unaware that he was the subject of the search, Mr. Mutlu came across the rescue team and decided to assist them. According to NTV, he joined the group and spent hours helping the search effort.
The twist came when members of the team began calling out his name. In response, Mr. Mutlu replied: 'I am here.'
He was then taken aside by one of the rescue workers to provide a statement.
'Don't punish me too harshly, officer. My father will kill me,' he reportedly told the authorities.
Police later drove him home. It remains unclear whether any legal action or fines were issued.
