Complaint registered against person for allegedly abusing, assaulting doctors

A case has been registered by the Delhi Police against a person who allegedly misbehaved with, verbally abused, and assaulted three doctors at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital.

New Delhi [India], March 21 (HBTV): A case has been registered by the Delhi Police against a person who allegedly misbehaved with, verbally abused, and assaulted three doctors at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital.



According to the police, a patient namely Rahul was brought in by the police for medical examination in casualty on March 15. He had allegedly consumed alcohol. While he was being examined, he started misbehaving with the medical personnel and even abused and physically assaulted the doctors. The patient also allegedly threatened the doctors’ life.  



Rahul then allegedly damaged hospital property including furniture, BP machine, MLC register; and hospital documents, among other items.          



Following the incident, emergency and casualty services were disrupted for more than two hours, reports said.   



The case has been registered under section 186/353/332 IPC and 4 Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence & damage of property act).
