Chumoukedima, Nagaland, May 13 (HBTV): The Forum for Naga Reconciliation has appealed to the people to pray to God, on May 18, for forgiveness and help and seek his intervention into the Naga political issue. The FNR issued a statement, received here on May 13.
During the May 5 and 6th meeting at Pruzie in Kohima, the Naga underground groups and the Naga tribal hohos have resolved to request the churches in Naga areas, through the respective apex church association/councils to take a moment to pray for the following points, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, the FNR stated.
The points of prayer the FNR sought:
“Let us come before the lord our Maker and acknowledge that he is our eternal triune God above all gods! Let us humble before him in worship and extol him with thanksgiving and praise. (Psalm 95).”
“Let us recognize the sovereignty of God over the destiny of all the peoples of this world. It is God who has determined the times and exact places of all people where they should live (Acts 17:26).”
The FNR appealed to the Naga people, although scattered in different regions, to give thanks that they are a unique people in God’s sight, created and redeemed for God’s glory.
‘Let us remember, ‘All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). In sincerity let us confess our shortcomings, wrongdoings and all evil committed before God and to each other. Let us ask forgiveness from God and from each other, so that healing and God’s favor will rest upon us,’ it stated.
The forum also appealed to the people to plead with God, with one heart and mind to hear the people’s prayer of lament.
“True, lasting peace has eluded our lands for more than 75 years. Let us seek God’s intervention in the impending Naga political situation. Let us plead that God will act not because we are righteous but for his name’s sake and enduring mercy, He will hear our prayer and intervene. (Dan 9: 18, 19).”
