New Delhi [India], June 1 (HBTV): The Indian Army is conducting extensive Capacity Development Demonstrations at key locations across the country, including the Pokhran and Babina field firing ranges and Joshimath, with dedicated air defence demonstrations also scheduled at Agra and Gopalpur.

These trials are being held under near-combat conditions, incorporating electronic warfare simulations to rigorously evaluate the performance of cutting-edge defence technologies.

On May 27, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Babina Field Firing Ranges to review the ongoing demonstrations and interacted with key stakeholders.

According to a Ministry of Defence release, the demonstrations feature a wide array of advanced systems developed under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, which aims to accelerate indigenous capability development. These trials form part of the Army’s roadmap for a ‘Decade of Transformation’ and are geared towards the rapid integration of emerging technologies to meet future battlefield requirements.

A large number of domestic defence industry partners are participating in the trials, reflecting the growing collaboration between the Indian Army and Indian defence manufacturers.

Key platforms undergoing evaluation include: Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), UAV Launched Precision Guided Munitions (ULPGM), Runway Independent Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS), Counter-UAS solutions, loitering munitions, Specialised Vertical Launch (SVL) drones, Precision Multi-Munition Delivery Systems, Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDDIS), low-level lightweight radars, next-generation VSHORADS infrared systems, and Electronic Warfare (EW) platforms.

Through these demonstrations, the Army aims to bolster its technological capabilities, improve operational readiness, and reaffirm its commitment to innovation and self-reliance in defence preparedness.
