Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 27 (HBTV): Bank of Baroda, one of India's leading public sector banks, has inaugurated its new Zonal Office in Raipur to enhance its presence across Chhattisgarh and deepen customer outreach throughout the state.
The Zonal Office was inaugurated virtually by Shri M. Nagaraju, IAS, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in the presence of Shri Ashish Madhaorao More, IAS, Joint Secretary, DFS, Shri Debadatta Chand, Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Baroda, members of the Board of Directors, and other senior bank officials.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri M. Nagaraju congratulated Bank of Baroda and urged it to contribute to the comprehensive development of Chhattisgarh and the socio-economic empowerment of its people. He noted that the state holds vast potential in mineral resources and agriculture, and advised the bank to support entrepreneurs, farmers, women, self-employed individuals, and self-help groups through credit outreach.
Bank CEO Shri Debadatta Chand reiterated the bank's commitment to Chhattisgarh’s economic growth, with a special focus on the MSME sector. He emphasised the importance of improved customer service and highlighted Chhattisgarh’s dynamism and productivity. He added that the bank's focus on decentralisation, rapid execution, and inclusive growth aligns with its vision for the new zonal office in Raipur.
Bank of Baroda currently serves the people of Chhattisgarh through a network of 212 branches and four regional offices, with over 1,600 staff members. Approximately 66 percent of these branches are located in rural and semi-urban areas, underscoring the bank’s emphasis on grassroots-level outreach.
