Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 15 (HBTV): Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday reaffirmed Chhattisgarh’s commitment to digital transformation, describing electronics and information technology as a key pillar in the vision of Viksit Chhattisgarh 2047, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047 roadmap.
Chairing a high-level review meeting of the Electronics and Information Technology Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, CM Sai instructed officials to expedite the installation of mobile towers and fibre optic networks, particularly in remote and underserved areas such as Bastar and Surguja.
‘In order to ensure governance that is efficient, transparent and accessible, it is essential to strengthen digital infrastructure across the state,’ said CM Sai.
Officials informed the meeting that over 5,000 mobile towers are planned to be installed in a phased manner within a fixed timeline. Under e-District 2.0, the government aims to expand its current 85 online services to 250, enabling citizens to access key schemes and facilities from their homes—saving both time and travel expenses. The Chief Minister also directed that the State Data Centre be upgraded to Tier-III standards for improved digital reliability.
During the meeting, CM Sai reviewed the progress of key departmental projects such as the Atal Monitoring Portal, Niyad Nellnar and LWE Saturation Dashboard, BharatNet Phase-2, Chhattisgarh State Data Centre (CGSDC), Aadhaar Enrollment In-House Model, e-District 2.0, CG SWAN, e-Procurement, and capacity building schemes.
Principal Secretary Niharika Barik highlighted several digital milestones, including the finalisation of the long-pending data centre upgrade tender after four years. She also noted the successful implementation of the Mineral 2.0 portal, the Wi-Fi Ministry Scheme, and the e-District portal. The BharatNet Phase-2 proposal has been submitted to the Centre, and the Atal Monitoring Portal has been developed to track key performance indicators of 100 schemes across 19 departments.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of the Electronics and Information Technology Department, Niharika Barik Singh; Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Subodh Singh; Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rahul Bhagat; CHiPS CEO Prabhat Malik; and other senior departmental officers.
