Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted an 11-member ministerial team to oversee flood relief in 12 affected districts, warning officials that negligence will not be tolerated.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 20 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted an 11-member ministerial team to oversee flood relief in 12 affected districts, warning officials that negligence will not be tolerated and urging relief efforts to be carried out with sensitivity, speed, and transparency.

According to a government release on Saturday, CM Yogi directed ministers to immediately visit their assigned districts, inspect relief camps, and directly interact with flood-affected families. District magistrates, SPs, and CMOs have been ordered to remain on the ground with round-the-clock monitoring.

He emphasised continuous surveillance of embankments, timely drainage of waterlogged areas, and proper arrangements for food, medicines, sanitation, and special care for women and children in relief camps. “The supply of relief materials must be timely and of high quality, with no compromise on standards,” the CM said.

CM Yogi also directed officials to ensure farmers receive compensation for crop loss, land erosion, or damaged houses within 24 hours, with aid distributed transparently in coordination with local representatives. Livestock safety has been prioritised, with instructions to relocate animals to safe zones and ensure fodder and veterinary care. Flood-affected hospitals are being stocked with anti-snake venom and anti-rabies injections.

Highlighting urban flood risks, he instructed officials to keep drains clear, maintain pumping stations, and arrange backup generators for uninterrupted power supply. He also pressed for rapid crop-loss surveys, strict disaster management protocol, and effective deployment of NDRF, SDRF, and PAC units.

Calling for a robust communication system, CM Yogi ordered strict action against rumours and directed constant public outreach through the CM Helpline and Integrated Control Room. “Ensuring zero loss of life during floods is the state’s top priority,” he said, adding that all departments must work in close coordination.

The CM said the flood crisis was a test of government unity and preparedness and assured that Uttar Pradesh would meet the challenge with “full commitment.”
