New Delhi [India], May 24 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday reviewed the progress of eight Namo Bharat corridor projects in the NCR region, where three corridors are currently under implementation as part of Phase I.

These include the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut (82 km), Delhi–Gurugram–SNB (105 km), and Delhi–Panipat–Karnal (136 km) routes. Haryana Environment and Forest Minister Rao Narbir Singh also attended the meeting, according to an official release.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised the transformative potential of the Namo Bharat corridors (RRTS) in easing traffic congestion, strengthening regional connectivity, and accelerating economic development across urban and semi-urban areas of Haryana. He instructed officials to expedite approvals for the Delhi–SNB and Delhi–Karnal corridors to ensure timely completion.

A detailed presentation was made by Shalabh Goel, Managing Director of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), on the Detailed Project Reports of the two corridors, highlighting their features and expected impact.

The meeting was informed that the Delhi–Ghaziabad–Meerut RRTS corridor has achieved significant milestones, with successful operations over a 55 km stretch and a highly positive public response.

The Chief Minister suggested that the design of the Namo Bharat corridors should be future-ready and should ensure efficient integration with existing Metro systems to improve overall utility. He reviewed the alignment, station locations, and land requirements of the Delhi–Gurugram–SNB and Delhi–Panipat–Karnal corridors, and instructed concerned departments to provide full support to NCRTC for early project execution.

Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed the alignment of the proposed Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida Namo Bharat corridor and directed officials to provide necessary approvals and assistance for the preparation of its Detailed Project Report.

The Namo Bharat trains are designed for high-speed connectivity, capable of covering 90 km in about one hour. They are expected to reduce travel time between Ghaziabad and Gurugram from 100 minutes by road to just 37 minutes, and will provide direct and rapid access to Delhi airport from Haryana.

The trains have a maximum design speed of 180 km/h, an inter-station distance of 5–10 km, and will operate with a frequency of every 5–10 minutes. They will also feature Platform Screen Doors and an Automatic Fare Collection System.

Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rajesh Khullar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Town & Country Planning and Urban Estates Department), A.K. Singh, and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
