A 25-year-old resident of Kaithal, Haryana has been arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives, said Kaithal Superintendent of Police Astha Modi.

Kaithal (Haryana) [India], June 4 (HBTV): A 25-year-old resident of Kaithal, Haryana, identified as Devendra Singh, has been arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence operatives, Kaithal Superintendent of Police (SP) Astha Modi said.

The accused is currently a first-year MA student at a college in Patiala. SP Modi stated that Devendra had been in contact with four Pakistani intelligence operatives — three men and one woman. 'He went to Pakistan in November last year, and after that, he was constantly in touch with them. He has admitted to making a video near the cantonment area in Patiala and sending it to them,' SP Modi said.

Devendra is currently in police custody on a three-day remand. Authorities have searched his residence and seized two electronic devices. A cyber forensic laboratory has recovered approximately 300 GB of data from the devices, which is now under analysis. A forensic audit of his bank accounts is also underway.

Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

In a separate case, Odisha Police is investigating alleged links between YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra — recently arrested for reportedly sharing sensitive information and maintaining continuous contact with a Pakistani citizen — and another YouTuber from the state.

Inspector General of Police (IGP), CID Crime Branch, Sarthak Sarangi said, 'We have just received information that YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra visited Puri's Jagannath temple and posted a video about it on Instagram. She also visited Chilika and Konark. She was in touch with a YouTuber from Odisha. We are verifying all the facts. We are in contact with our counterparts in Haryana regarding Jyoti Malhotra.'

Malhotra, a resident of Hisar, Haryana, is currently under investigation in coordination with police authorities in Puri. Puri Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal confirmed that the district police are working closely with Haryana police on the case.

Earlier, the Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujeet Kapoor had stated that several individuals had been arrested in the state for alleged espionage activities in favour of Pakistan. He added that these arrests were part of a broader crackdown following enhanced vigilance and surveillance efforts across Haryana. (ANI)
