Hisar (Haryana) [India], April 11 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has accused the Congress party of indulging in appeasement politics, citing the introduction of the Waqf Act in 2013. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is working to correct the missteps taken by Congress.

‘Congress played appeasement politics and introduced the Waqf Act in 2013. The Waqf Board, the (Muslim) community, and the country also suffered losses because of this. Whatever wrong Congress did, PM Narendra Modi’s government is correcting it,’ Saini said.

On April 14, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Haryana on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti to inaugurate a series of development projects and launch air travel services from Hisar Airport.

Speaking on the visit, the Chief Minister said, ‘PM Modi has taken the responsibility to make India a developed nation. It is a matter of pride for Haryana, especially Hisar, that Haryana is going to get its first airport.’

Earlier on Friday, CM Saini offered prayers at the Prachin Shree Kali Mata Mandir in Kalka on the occasion of Navaratri. He said, ‘I offered prayers at the Prachin Shree Kali Mata Mandir on the occasion of Navaratri. I prayed for the well-being of the people of the state and nation. May Haryana touch new heights of development... On the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th April, PM Modi will be coming to Haryana to inaugurate various development projects.’

On March 29, CM Saini had announced that the state government would provide reservations for backward classes in Panchayats and urban local bodies.

Speaking at a civic felicitation and Holi Milan function organised by the Saini community, he said, ‘I am happy that we recently made a reservation for the backward classes in Haryana. For a long time, there was a demand here that the limit should be increased. As soon as I took responsibility for this, I decided to increase it. I am also happy that our government has decided to give reservations for the backward classes in Panchayats and urban local bodies in Haryana.’
