New Delhi [India], June 25 (HBTV): Two separate robbery incidents have been reported in the national capital within four days, according to Delhi Police. One occurred in Vasant Kunj South on June 23, and the other in Keshavpuram on June 19.
In the June 23 incident in Vasant Kunj South, robbers made away with cash worth INR 30 lakh. The victim, Karan Chopra, a city gas distributor, informed police that three to four individuals forcibly entered his house and looted the cash. Following the report, the station house officer (SHO) and other officials reached the spot and called in the crime team to inspect the scene.
A case has been registered under Sections 309(4), 331(6), 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Vasant Kunj South Police Station. Police said some suspects have been identified and efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused. The investigation is ongoing.
In the earlier incident, which took place on the night of June 19 in the Keshavpuram area, three men allegedly robbed a shop owner at knifepoint. The shop owner, Dharmendra, told police that around 11 p.m., while he was cleaning his shop, two men wearing caps and masks entered and threatened him. When he attempted to leave, one of the robbers in a red cap restrained him with a knife and demanded the cashbox.
The robbers fled with INR 43,000 in cash, an iPhone 11, a silver Sonata watch, some visiting cards, copies of Aadhaar and PAN cards, and even kulfis worth INR 1,000 from the shop's refrigerator. Dharmendra also reported that a third accomplice was seen waiting outside on a motorcycle, and the trio escaped shortly after the robbery.
Police have registered a case under Sections 309(4) and 3(5) of the BNS and are actively investigating the case.
