Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi informed the Supreme Court that he has invited MLA K Ponmudi to swear in as the state cabinet minister.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], March 22 (HBTV): Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi informed the Supreme Court that he has invited MLA K Ponmudi to swear in as the state cabinet minister at 3:30 PM on Friday. 



Attorney General R Venkataramani apprised the facts to the bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and said that the Tamil Nadu governor has no intention to disregard the Supreme Court. 



Attorney General R Venkataramani submitted that the governor has conveyed he would be inviting Ponmudi to take the oath.  



On Thursday, the Supreme Court questioned the conduct of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi over his decision to refuse to appoint K Ponmudy as a minister in the state cabinet. The court said he had defied the order of the top court.  



Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, along with justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, made the observations while hearing the Tamil Nadu government's plea challenging the governor's decision to refuse to appoint K Ponmudy as minister in the state cabinet.
