Silchar, Assam, December 4 (HBTV): A massive fire broke out at Silchar's Hospital Road at 2:00 PM on Wednesday. Several houses, including business establishments, and an organization’s office were burned down.
Several fire engines rushed to the spot and tried to contain the fire. The damage from the fire is estimated to be approximately one crore, locals claimed. The cause of the fire is attributed to a short circuit from one of the stops.
An eyewitness remarked that it was time to replace these old fire brigade engines with modern ones to meet emergencies effectively.
