Imphal, Manipur, July 30 (HBTV): A mother and her child were killed after a massive landslide hit their house on Monday night at Dimthanlong village, ward no. 3 in Manipur's Tamenlong district.  

The husband identified as Ringsinlung Kahmei is in critical condition and has being airlifted to Imphal for treatment. He is said to be a constable in Manipur Police department.   

Landslides in the hilly terrains of Manipur are a constant occurrence during rainy seasons. Tamenglong district in particular is notorious for landslides and mudslides. Steep hilly terrains and loose soil often become lethal combination during the rainy season and remote areas of the district are often cut off from the mainland.
